MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota – December 10, 2002 – Digital North Inc. today
announced that it has acquired Wizmo's shared website hosting business. This acquisition
is Digital North's first hosting services acquisition this year, and third
since the business was founded. Financial terms of this transaction were not released.
During 2002, Wizmo made the strategic business decision to exit the website development
and hosting business as it continued to represent a smaller and smaller portion of
Wizmo's overall business. According to Mike Lindseth, Wizmo CEO, "The website hosting
business was not core to Wizmo's strategy moving forward. Over the past 2 years, our
hosting strategies have moved significantly in the direction of partnering with software
vendors and outsourced service providers, such as ADP."
"Digital North is a Wizmo partner and we are confident they will provide
strong service and support for our web hosting customers", said Jim Stover, VP
of Professional Services. "Wizmo spent considerable time
investigating hosting providers to ensure our clients' needs are met. Wizmo
has chosen to exit this business and concentrate on application delivery and
IT consulting." Digital North and Wizmo both utilize the Inflow datacenter
in Minneapolis.
